- After 33 years of teaching first graders, I'm finally retired and getting to turn my attention to my other life-long love...crafting! It's always an adventure. As my business name, Wood-n-Stitches, implies, the bulk of my handmade crafts are folk art paintings on a variety of wooden items and soft sculpture folk art dolls, Santas, snowmen, etc.
